Yom Tov Prep Staffing in Lakewood NJ
Learn more
Yom Tov preparation starts long before the guests arrive. The shopping, the cleaning, the kashering, the cooking and the setup fill the days before the holiday, and they fall on the same person who also hosts. We staff the prep so the family spends the holiday as a guest in their own home.
About this event
Yom Tov is the busiest stretch of the year for a kosher household, and the work is not the celebration itself but everything that comes before it. Erev Yom Tov the kitchen is full, the house needs a deep clean, and the food for two or three meals is being prepared and then held.
Families tell us the pain is not the cooking. It is that the cooking takes the days that were supposed to be for getting ready and being with family. Our Yom Tov prep crew takes the shopping, the preparation and the kitchen work so the family can do the parts they actually want to do.

Our staffing for this event
A typical Yom Tov prep booking covers one or more days before the holiday: kitchen help for the cooking and the kashering, and service staff for the holiday meal itself. Our crews are Shomer Shabbos, so the kitchen work is done with the same halachic care the rest of the household keeps.
If you host several meals across the Yom Tov days, we can staff the preparation once and the service for each meal, with the same crew returning to your kitchen. That continuity means they learn your setup and your equipment rather than learning it each day.
- Kitchen help for the kashering, the cleaning and the cooking
- Waiters for the holiday meal and for the days that follow
- Bartenders for the holiday table
- The same crew across the whole Yom Tov stretch, if that is what you need
Pricing notes
Yom Tov prep staffing is quoted per event, with the preparation days and the service days itemised separately so you can see what each one covers. Some families book the prep only and handle the meal themselves, and some book the whole stretch.
Base hourly rates are on the pricing page; the final quote depends on the event's size, your kitchen and how many days you want covered.
Sample menus and roles
Yom Tov menus are usually built once and eaten across several meals: a cholent for the night, a fish course, sides, and desserts. Our kitchen help is briefed on the menu in advance so the shopping list and the prep sequence make sense together.
Roles rotate across the days. On preparation days the crew is mostly in the kitchen, and on the holiday itself the crew moves to the table.

FAQ
What does Yom Tov prep staffing include?
The work before the holiday: shopping, cleaning and kashering the kitchen, and the cooking for the meals you are hosting. Many families also add service staff for the holiday meal itself. Tell us how many days you want covered and what your menu looks like and we will quote it.
Can your kitchen staff kasher our kitchen?
Our kitchen help works with your family through the kashering process, following the standard practice for your home. If you want the work verified by a mashgiach, we can arrange one on request, coordinated with the Kashrus Council of Lakewood where the venue requires it.
Do you staff the meals during Yom Tov as well as the prep?
Yes. Prep-only bookings are common, and so are bookings that cover both the preparation days and the holiday meal. We can hold one crew across the whole stretch so they learn your kitchen and work as a team with your family.
How far in advance should we book Yom Tov prep staff?
Six to eight weeks is the window we recommend for the busy holidays, because the calendar fills well before the holiday itself. Outside of peak holidays, four to six weeks is usually enough. Booking early also gives you more choice of crew.
