Event Staffing FAQ
FAQ about kosher event staffing in Lakewood NJ — shomer shabbos staff, pricing, booking lead time, mashgiach availability and service area.
FAQ
Do you provide Shomer Shabbos staff?
Yes. All of our staff observe Shabbos, which means no driving on Shabbos and no work that would constitute chillul Shabbos. If part of your event runs into Shabbos, the crew finishes its work within what their own observance allows, and we plan the setup and the wrap-up around that.
Are you supervised by KCL?
Yes. Our staff work under the supervision of the Kashrus Council of Lakewood, which covers both the kashrut of the food and the practice of the people preparing and serving it. Where a venue or an event needs a mashgiach on site, we arrange it and coordinate with the venue.
What areas do you serve?
Lakewood NJ and a ten-mile radius, covering Brick, Toms River, Jackson and Howell. We work in private homes, synagogues, community halls and rented event spaces throughout the area. If your event sits outside that radius, ask us anyway and we will tell you honestly whether we can cover it.
Do you do bar mitzvahs?
Yes, bar mitzvahs are a large part of our work in the Lakewood area. We staff the dining room, the bar and the kitchen, and we coordinate with the caterer your family already uses. Most bar mitzvah bookings are for the reception and the cleanup, with kitchen help earlier in the day when it is needed.
Do you do vorts and sheva brachot?
Yes. We staff vorts as single events and sheva brachot as a full week of meals, which is usually the easier way to book it because the setup cost is the same on each night. Where a family hosts only one dinner of the week, we staff that night on its own.
Can you coordinate with my caterer?
Yes, and it is our specialty. Send us your caterer's contact details and we will reach out to them before the event to confirm the menu, the service style, the arrival times and who is responsible for each part of the service. You do not need to relay anything on the day.
How far in advance do I book?
Four to six weeks is our normal window, and we suggest eight weeks for peak dates, for Shabbos dates and for any event that needs a mashgiach. Because our crews are local we can often cover a shorter notice — ask us and we will tell you straight whether we can.
Do you provide a mashgiach?
Yes, on request for events, kitchens and venues, coordinated with the Kashrus Council of Lakewood where the venue requires it. The supervision is quoted as its own line item so it is visible in the total, and we suggest six to eight weeks of lead time for it.
What does event staffing cost?
We quote per event, per hour or as a package, depending on the event and how regularly you book. The quote is itemised by role and by the hours on site, so you can see exactly what the waiters, the bartenders and the kitchen help cost. Base hourly rates are on the pricing page; the final quote depends on the event's size and location.
Are you available for shiva?
Yes, and shiva bookings are often made at short notice. We keep crews available for same-day and next-day events in the Lakewood area, because the notice is the difficult part rather than the event itself. We can provide kitchen help, service staff, or both.
How many staff will I need?
It depends on the guest count, the service format and the hours on site rather than on any single number. A seated dinner with a long programme and a buffet with an open dance floor need different ratios. Send us those three details and we will size the crew for the room.
How do I get a quote?
Tell us the date, the venue, the guest count, the menu format and the hours you need covered. If you already have a caterer, include their contact details so we can coordinate with them directly. We come back with a quote broken down by role and by hour.
Can you staff a Shabbat dinner?
Yes, and it is one of the events our crews are built for. All of the cooking, prep and setup happens before Shabbos, and on the day our staff serve the meal and handle the room without lighting a fire or driving. The food is prepared ahead and held with a blech where the menu requires it.
Do you work with our own caterer or bring your own food?
We are a staffing company and we do not bring food. We staff the event around the caterer your family has chosen, brief our crew on their menu and their service method, and take responsibility for the service side of the evening. Where a family cooks for itself, our kitchen help works in the family kitchen instead.
Still have a question?
If your question is not answered here, ask it directly. We would rather answer it now than have you book without knowing.
